Hiding the command window when running a program. Hide console Window when application executes.
StartHidden |
StartHidden or executing applications hidden.
The purpose of this application is to help execute applications without a visible Windows. The application that needs to run hidden can be a console application, a batch file or a windowed application (e.g. Notepad.exe).
Run batch files or console applications without the unwanted black DOS window.
Run console application with no console window. Use StartHidden to hide the console Windows when the application executes.
StartHidden can be used within a shortcut, a batch file or launched from within another application in order to execute the required helper application without visible window e.g. without opening the black DOS window and thus hidden from the user.
If your application needs to start a console application e.g. in order to transmit files in background, do some backups or other calculations, you can hide this execution by using StartHidden. Instead executing your console application directly you pass the command line to StartHidden.
starthidden zmcs.exe /c2 /Ms[enter]
will start the application zmcs.exe
and pass the included parameters to it.
If parameters omitted, StartHidden will prompt for the application and parameters (command line). Useful if the application should start manualy e.g. while testing.

Q: How to close a hidden application ?
A: The executed application remains visible inside the Windows Task-Manager (CTRL-ALT-DEL) - a way to locate and close the application by hand, if needed e.g. while testing. If you're looking for an alternative method to terminate the application except the one through the Task-Manager e.g. like pressing [Alt]-[F4] (which is not possible since no focus on a hidden programm), our technical support staff will gladly show you some code you can add to your program*.
